Dave is a veteran of the blockchain industry and a leader of the technology’s application in global trade and supply chains. He is an active member of the BAFT Innovation Council. He is a well-respected thought-leader and frequent speaker on the topic. Before Hijro, he was a co-founder and Executive Director of The Bitcoin Society, a think-tank and media company focused on the field of Bitcoin, blockchain technology and emerging payments. He then served as Director of Sales for Pheeva, a mobile bitcoin wallet. Dave is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis and currently resides in Manhattan, NY

He previously worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Lazard Freres, and private equity at Tishman Speyer. He has been a Senior Fellow at Wharton, and a Visiting Scholar at NYU and Columbia. He is a Lecturer at Haas Business School at UC Berkeley. Phin earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and an MBA and PhD from Wharton Business School.

He has over 15 years of experience, in private practice and at Microsoft, advising clients on a variety of commercial transactions and commerce and payment services with a special focus on online and offline electronic payment services, prepaid access/stored value/virtual currency and cross-border payment. Prior to joining Microsoft, He was an attorney at Davis Wright Tremaine where he focused on corporate restructuring, reorganization and insolvency.
